Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLIns) in Cameroun
Cameroon in engaged in the second generation of LLINs that stands for the Long Lasting Impregnated Nets. This type of Net has the particularity that the user do not impregnate it. Insecticides is integrate in the fibre of the net as from the factory. This type can last for three year or up to five and maintain the full protection of individual using them on their bed.
The upcoming procurement of LLINs that will be distributed all over the country is through theGlobal Fund, Round 9. To support this process, VPP (Voluntary Pooled Procuremnt) will be engaged. The brands chosen by Cameroon are Olyset, Permanet, Dawa. The number of LLINs to be distributed is 8645731 exactly. But there is still a gap to reach the level of universal coverage that is for this context presented as one LLINs for two persons. The gap is 2700 000.
Strategies and other action are on the way to implement such a challenged at around the june month in all over the Cameroon territory
